Short Bio
I’m a 15-year-old photographer who loves capturing moments through both digital and film photography. I enjoy playing with shape, texture, and the little details that make a scene interesting. Whether it’s a cool cityscape, a fleeting moment, or just something that catches my eye, I take photos to freeze time, offering a glimpse into a world where the hidden beauty is emphasized.
Biography
I’m Ella Tudor—a beginner 15-year-old photographer based in Mountain View, California. I enjoy digital photography and am refining my film photography skills. Though it’s been said before, I believe photography is a way of capturing the overlooked art we see everyday. Taking photos of ordinary objects or sights differently makes taking photos a unique challenge and experience.
My brother, who has since the beginning of my life, has been a large influence and reason for why I take photos. My family being artistic in numerous ways, art, music, sports, etc, also programmed me to see beauty in the ordinary.
Though my style can differentiate from piece to piece, I particularly enjoy urban scenes since there are lots of angles, lines, and shapes. Apart from art, I am also a huge math lover and like to apply what I have learned in my many years of math class to everyday life. Photographing in public has been a new experience I’ve had to acclimate to. Since I am one to capture multiple angles of a subject to change my perspective on it, I am used to getting on the floor, standing on benches, or going into the splits to get that perfect worm's eye view. Some pieces of media that influence me are my all time favorite movies; The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, The Sound of Music, and Call Me by Your Name (can you tell I love good soundtracks and romance?). The use of color and symmetry in these films give insight to the idyllic and day-dream-like atmosphere.
Like I’ve mentioned, my family and I are involved in many types of art. I, individually, enjoy expressing myself through dance and symmetrical mandalas or architecture inspired drawings. My brother enjoys making music, my dad experiments with art and the way of grounding yourself through movement, and my mom is an entrepreneur who is fascinated by my TV shows and the storylines around it.
Photography lets me see the world in a way I wouldn’t otherwise, and I’m always excited to capture new moments. No matter where I go, my camera is never too far away.
